I had a credit card with Plains Commerce Bank. 2003 was the last payment made on this account. In 2006 Total Card Recovery contacted me and sent them VOD letter. Nothing came back from them. Now I just got a letter from Zenith Acquisitions Corp trying to collect on the same account. Just mailed them VOD letter today. What should I do next?

What state are you in? You need to determine whether this debt is still within SOL. Sending the letter was the correct thing to do but while waiting to see if they respond, you need to know about SOL in case they do answer.

Can't add to that! Good advice. You did the right thing by sending the letter again. The first company could not respond so they sold you to a new one most likely. Thet won't have the info either. Be careful not to acknowledge even a dollar of it. If the SOL applies or is close they will try to trick you with an offer. If you counter you have just renewed the SOL from that date. The "bad guy" may try intimidation first and then the "good guy" will call with an nice offer to settle. Do not fall for that one.

Be aware that some states allow recording of collection calls with one party consent. If you just make a commitment or an agreement to pay the debt, the CA might use it against you and file a legal case. Check your state laws before talking to the CA.

Hello,
Almost every day Zenith Acq. pre-recorded message looking for someone I don't know. Can I get them to stop without giving out a ton of information about me?
Thanks
