Very urgent and unique help needed - Part 2

(continued from Part 1)
When a person is searching for debt consolidation, what is he actually looking for? Here are some of my suggestions:

  1. Debt consolidation loan
  2. To talk to financial professional for counseling
  3. Different debt solution plans.
  4. Credit Card negotiation, PDL help, negotiation training and skills (suggested by FYI)
  5. Discuss your rights and how to pay back debt without harassment ((suggested by Cajunbulldog )).

Please add on your suggestions to find more about the actual requirements.

Thanks,
Mike

Most of this web site was built around pdl's. I would really like to pull members from other boards to discuss your rights and how to pay back debt without harassment.

I agree with ladybug about stumbling upon this site..I myself honestly don't think most people who found this site are seeking debt consolidation..(originally at least).. because in their frame of mind when they get here ... they don't think they can get control of the situation they are in or are mad as heck etc and don't realize there are rules, laws, and rewards at the end of a long journey

Mike.. I found this site several months ago because am very concerned about my oldest child who is in 2nd year of college and has accumulated over 12,000 in credit card debt is full time student with part time job ..I have bailed out a couple of times and paid off some cards but child then just maxed them out again 4-6 months later ..but these companies keep sending my child credit line increases and new card offers..I am done helping and until they stop sending this fake money..and dangling the carrot in front of childs nose ..the money they don't have will keep being spent .. has book smarts but no common sense..I worried night and day until I realized there was nothing else I can do until they realize there is a problem here..my husband has convinced me that we provided our children with the tools and they are the ones who will need to start using them... and I keep calling a young adult "child" but they will always be my babies ..my husband rags on me all the time about that!

anyways I found this sight because
I googled something like " complaints about credit card debt young people" and I ended up here..I read the posts for a while and finally joined because I felt maybe something I had to say could inspire someone else and it was I felt my way for thanking everyone else who has been so nice and helpful here..

I guess the point I am trying to make is I think that most people originally probably find this sight because if they enter "debt" into the phrase on a "google" search they can probably find a link to here simply from that because there are so many posts here with "debt" in the phrase..and all of them eventually show up on a google search even if its page 5,972..

from being on this sight for a very short time I have also seen that the pdl's are indeed a horrific form of debt that many people here need help with ..and..when someone arrives to sight and on first post... mentions this debt perhaps you could provide an immediate link to a certain page or section to help them?

This is really great, should be included in description somewhere.

All the feedbacks are helpful, please keep suggesting.

I try to put myself in someone else's shoes:

They're overloaded with debt ... they're getting bombarded with collection calls ... they're trying to find a way to fix it all, and really don't know what their options are. They've heard the term "debt consolidation" on TV and radio, but don't know what it means. And so they type it in Google to see what comes up.

I think FYI and Cajun hit it right on the head. "Taking control of one's finances" is another way of saying it.

I agre with FYI and Cajun-- so many are hounded and threatened by cc companies, etc., and need to know their rights and how to solve their debt problems.

What helped me alot when I found this site was, thatI found out I needed to become educated in debt before I could become debt free. It also helped when others told me of ways to to not being hounded and threatened.

When I read that others had gone through the same thing, that there were solutions,it wasn't hopeless and that there were ways to becoming debt free-it took a big load off of me. I also think I learned to become more responsible concerning debt and my obligations to dbet..Good Luck Mike--you all are doing a great job!!..karen
