I know that just about everybody, well I assume everybody, here, has had a collection call. I got one yesterday, and I was so mad that I wanted to pull him thru the phone, and let him see my position now. I have become disabled with Digenerative Disc Disease. That means that I have 2 herniated discs, and 1 bulging in the left side of my neck. No fun!!! Since becoming disabled, I have gotten sicker. I have been hospitalized 4 times in a little over a year. I have Congestive Heart Failure, Arthritis of the Spine, Fibromialgia (attacks your joints and muscles), Osteoarthritis in both knees, and on oxygen 24/7. Anyway, this guy that I am speaking to asks me why I can't make a payment. After I tell him 3 times how I get paid, once a month, every 2nd Wednesday of the month, he asks why I didn't pay last week. Duh!!! Then he proceeds to ask if I can borrow it from someone, typical question, I answer no, then, he asks what put me in this position that I can't pay now. I proceeded to explain to him that I have been sick, with this sinus crud, and that I am disabled. He continues and says that I put myself in this position. I blatently cut him off by asking him, I did not ask to get sick - did I? I didn't ask to be disabled - did I? He got quiet. Then he lowers the amount that I need to pay. I ask him if he had been listening to what I was saying, and he replies that I will note your account. I ask him, note my account of what? He says that you can't make a payment until the 14th, the 2nd Wednesday of the month. I said you finally listened didn't you! Click. I hung up first.

You put yourself in this position - HOW? What a moron that collector sounds like. I wish you could've pulled him through the phone. As I stated in another post, try not to get worked up over these guys. It sounds like you've got enough on your shoulders without having to deal with these people. The best of luck to you.

Welcome to the Forums Yep- I've had alot of phone calls from collectors. Be glad that he at least talked to you! Most of mine have called me everything but my name, screamed, yelled, etc.!! I'm sorry for all your physical problems, I have a few of them myself, and stress doesn't help them at all. If you have questions, or want to vent, we are here to support you.Good Luck..Karen

Welcome to the forums Tammy. I sure know how you feel. I have had the physical problems myself. I believed all these creditors and thats how I got hooked into the payday loan mess. Trying to borrow to pay them. That also backfired. Stress will kill you if youm let it. If you are on a disability I dont think they can touch that money anyway. Somebody correct me if I am wrong Please. You have to live its not your fault you got sick. Best Wishes KYSIDE38

Yeah, sure, you put yourself in this position. Like you woke up and said "Gee, I think I'd like to try some real pain and have not one but TWO herniated discs!!!! That should be fun..." What a complete and total clown that collector was. I'd like to hear his tune if he's ever in that position. Just shows me that listening skills are dying in America.

The site has had a few technical glitches, which every site in the world experiences from time to time.

Please be patient while the problems are worked out (which they appear to be now).

Do you have questions you need answered?
