My son charged $170 worth of premium texting and internet usage on his phone. I blocked the internet usage so I am unsure how he did this. The texting is things he receives from 3rd party texting...but I blocked texting as well. Verizon is playing stupid saying that texting was not blocked. Do I have any recourse on this? He is 11 years old and only has the phone for emergencies. However, the phone is now taken from him and he will not get it back. We have been verizon customers for 11 years and this is a hard one to swallow.

I wouldn't give in too easily to Verizon, I would even request a supervisor if I didn't think I was getting anywhere with a customer service rep.

I agree keep calling, don't give up after one call. I have verizon and I know many times I have had to call back 5 or 6 times before I get someone who can help me.

Perhaps going into a local store and talking to the manager might help. Bring your son along, so he can clearly see that "your son" IS really only 11. Can't hurt.

thanks. I am not going to give up. The phone is gone. He will not get it back, but we are still either stuck with the $10 a month service charge, or we have to end the contract and pay the cancellation fee. I have to figure out what the cheaper of the two is. UGH!
