I live in Conn. and according to the postings on this thread, PDL's are illegal in my state, is that correct? If so, is it suggested that I close the account and contact the AG 's office? Sorry if this is redudent, just looking for a little help.

Thanks Shazzers

I have filed a complaint with the Connecticut Department of Banking, who else should I contact and should I talk to my bank or just close the account? I have 2 checking accounts with the same bank.

I just spoke with the Connecticut Department of Banking at (860) 240-8299, just as you said, they told me that payday loans are illegal in Conn. and that I should change my banking account. They are going to send a letter to Paydayloansonline informing them that they are acting illegally in the state. The person ssaid that I might have to put up with some greif but that there was nothing the PDL could do.

youre very fortunate indeed; did you get that in writing? I am only 35.00 away from the entire principle being paid off and they will not accept it...want approx 400.00 more. Not happening.

I don't believe it either. I owe them $140 in principle and they won't take it to settle the account. They want 3 payments of $170. I told them, no thanks.

What is a "shill"? Im probably thinking the right thing...lol.

I have not heard from anyone via telephone for about a week but I did get a standard "please contact us, problem with your checking acct!" email that they send around once in a while yesterday. I just save them and dont answer anymore. Whatever. As long as they leave me alone otherwise. I have never gotten one thing in the mail and I find that so strange. I guess the tactic is to drive someone so crazy that they relent or scare the pants off of them; Im already half crazy and pretty scary myself when pushed; italian blood...what can I say?
