Sub: #3 Crate & Barrell debt, I never had

Many collection agencies (such as Asset Acceptance and MGM Collection agency to name a few) are calling me for quite sometime and bugging me to cough $3000 for a debt that I owe Crate & Barrell (they claim). But in reality I don't have any credit card debt through them. What to do now? Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Miranda,

You can send debt validation letter to these collection agencies. Btw, have you called the original creditor, ie. Crate & Barell and inquire about the debt? If you haven't then please call them and inquire about it.

Depending on what C&B tell you, if you are quite sure that you have never had an account with them, I would start looking into ID Theft as a possible scenario.
