Two extremes..
It sounds that you have too many negative things in your report that has lowered your scores.
See some tips for credit repair.
Credit repair is a lengthy process. It depends upon your efforts dedicated towards it. If there are many unpaid debts and you win a big lottery next morning, put it towards the accounts and see the results at the shortest time.

EVERYTHING!
When you pull your own fico score they show you a chart of "how lenders see you". When your score falls in the range of 500 - 549, statistically you have a 70% chance of defaulting on a credit obligation in the next two years. However in the 700-749 range that number drops to 5%! So in their eyes youre a much lower credit risk at 722.
660 seems to be the lowest "acceptable" number from my own credit experiences and from information I have encountered. It puts you in the 14% risk, which actually starts at 650, but for some reason 660 seems to be where doors start opening. Of course every lender is different.
You cant do much of anything with a 522 and you wouldn't want to anyhow because the interest rates would be sickening.

Passion Hunting is right. Credit repair is a pretty long process, depending on how bad your credit is. I currently have a few collection accts and 2 chargeoffs on mine, and believe me, it sucks. I am making payments on the collection accounts and also on the chargeoffs. I plan to take all of the money that I get this year for my birthday and Christmas and pay on them also. By January of 2007, I plan to be debt free and on the road to a good credit score..

I recommend that you visit the website" life after bankruptcy" for tips on how to raise your credit score. But before you do that visit myfico12 to obtain the correct credit report that displays all three scores and the 12 negative remarks that are keeping you from obtaining credit.
