CIC is a big scam. A long discussion is happening at the other link. Melissa cancelled her account in the following way

All of this came about from signing up for a "free" credit report on their website and not removing my "membership" from their database within the 30-day trial period. Therefore, I received a $12 charge every month thereon. I also understand that this company (if that's what you want to call them) is not listed with the Better Business Bureau, but that they have thousands of complaints listed against them, which don't do any good.
