I just got my www.annualcreditreport.com report, and it showed 21 potentially negative accounts and 18 in good standing. I went ahead and disputed the 21 accounts. Some were duplicate charges, others I didn't even recognize. But now what happens? Anyone with experience in this? I have the report number.

Oh and all of those 18 were different school loans or write offs, so I assume theyre not really GOOD STANDING are they?

Well, are they defaulted or with CA's. If so, then, no they are not what you should consider "GOOD STANDING"/

I filed disputes with Experian online. And I had alot of the disputes knocked off of my credit report. I received notification just a little over 30 days after my disputes. I just went ahead and disputed all negative marks and they removed quite a bit.

Just imagine for a while, how careless these credit bureaus are. They are reporting 21 incorrect items in one's credit copy. I hope your dispute is found correct and your credit scores go up.

I saw things on there that definately weren't mine some were good marks and some were bad. Sometimes I think they accidentally hit a wrong number and it ends up on somebody else's credit. My ex-husband had credit card on his CR and it was in excellent standing problem was the account was opened up when he was only 1 year old.

I'm curious - obviously you don't want to try to dispute anything on your report while you are in a Chapter 13 payment plan, but what about afterwards? How long should you wait to dispute anything not removed from your report after the Chapter 13 plan is discharged?

My chpt. 13 isn't d/c yet, but I still disputed, the stuff that wasn't taken off I didn't want off I wanted it reported correctly to show that it was in a chpt. 13 repayment plan, because I had some stuff that was still showing up as charged off or listed as a judgement. Experian was good about it and things are listed correctly now. I was told by a mortgage broker to do this, I'm not sure how much it has helped my score I haven't checked. And I really don't want to pay one of those companies to give it to me. I'll just wait.

Also, don't you get a free copy to your house IF they change things? Ad how would I get a free copy of mine through the other two?

Oh and about CHexsystems, would I be able to dispute stuff just like on my credit report?

YAH! Bestideayet!!!!!!!!! Can you get me a Big Mac Value Meal with that? LOL

Experian sent me a letter with a copy of my online disputes and an explanation for each change. It was free and I didn't have to request it.

I also disputed with Equifax and shortly after I got my revised report. It came free in the mail, but I am still to get one from the others. I got emails with my results in them.

So do you think that just by disputing Experian, lets say, and then getting my other two reports, that its more likely for the other two to delete stuff that Experian already took off? In other words, would that be some sort of leverage in dispute letters? And also, should them taking off "some stuff" make my score a little better?
