Not sure about what the above post is reffering to with debt consolidation, i was never offered consoldication even with my poor credit. So far, no issues with them. But still, do you research, you may learn something i dont know.

I have used Credit Keeper for 4 months. I had their $9.99 billed to my HSBC card monthly. Recently I have been trying to get the balance down on my card, so I have not used it at all. I received my last statement and saw 3 $9.99 charges for the past month! I pulled my file and other statements where to my dismay I discovered that they had been charging me atleast twice a month for this service. I immedietly called Credit Keeper to cancel this service and they tell me that they only charged me $9.99 a month, and that HSBC has been overcharging me. So I cancel, and call my credit card company. They tell me they will only refund me $20 (I am owed atleast $50) and when I ask them why this has happened, I am rudely told that I should contact Credit Keeper with that inquiry. Credit Keeper is a division of HSBC, and they both have a stake in this scam. Upon some research on the web, I discover this same exact ploy has happened to thousands of others, and the only way to stop it is to actually cancel the card. STAY AWAY FROM HSBC AND CREDIT KEEPER!!![/font]

I have two accounts with Credit Keeper - one for myself and one for my husband. Each is billed to a different debit card account rather than HSBC's credit card. That way I will see more than one chargewhen I balance the statement. I triy never to allow the credit card company to add services to my account. Travel clubs, overdraft protection, payment protection are all means by which CC companies reap additional revenue off their customer base.
Think about this: Every CC in your wallet represents $25,000 in profit to the CC provider over the lifetime of the account. If you carry a balance, there's interest; if you sign up for any of the offered services, there's a monthly fee for each service; if you go over your limit, there's a fee for that; if your payment is late, there's another fee for that. And if additional cards are held within the family, tack on an additional $25K per card. Best bet: Treat every CC in your wallet like an American Express Card....they bill monthly and the bill is payable in full 'cause they generally don't let you carry a balance. The temptation to spend more than you can afford any given month isn't there. Hope this helps. |

I have used credit keeper for over two years. I get an updated credit report monthly with all three credit scores. It’s a good sight to get information on maintaining you credit. Links to each of the credit reporting agencies to dispute incorrect information. I highly recommend using a credit monitoring service. CreditKeeper is a little slow in reporting changes. I have never had a billing problem with billing issues.
