I am trying to send a validation letter to a number of companies but do not have an account number to reference. how do I get that information? Do I contact the company? The account numbers don't fully show up on my credit report, you know for security purposes?

You do not need an account number for a dv letter. All you need is their name and address.Include your name and address and that you are disputing the debt.

well on the debt collection letter that your creditor sends you in order to inform you about you late account and their collection efforts they also give you the time frame to dispute that debt and ask for a validation letter it must usually be done within 30 days of receiving the collection letter from your creditor
