Why is FIA CSNA getting listed on my report?

We have sometimes found FIA CSNA listing in our credit report which appear as a strange stuff to most of us. FIA CSNA is actually the FIA card service National Association which offers a wide range of credit card and loan services to the customers.

If you find the name FIA CSNA listed in our credit report it may be due to the following three reasons:
  • Your account may be sold off to FIA card services and they are now acting as a Collection Agency for the recovery of the debt.
  • Since FIA card services which was earlier MBNA (Maryland Bank, National Association) has been taken over by Bank of America in 2006, the listing of FIA CSNA in your credit report may be due to any of your debts outstanding with the Bank of America or the Maryland Bank.
  • FIA card service also processes the accounts of other banks like Wachovia Banking Corporation. So the listing might also be due to any of the debt you owe to Wachovia.
Now whenever you find FIA CSNA listing in your credit report, all you need to do is to send a debt validation letter to the FIA Card services under certified post and wait till 30 days of their receipt of the letter. If they do not validate your debt, send a dispute letter to the three Credit reporting Agencies telling them that you do not agree with the listing. If they validate your debt then you can come to a repayment plan with the FIA card service. However if you can make them agree to Pay for deletion agreement it would be better because as soon as you repay the debt the listing will come out of your credit report and your credit score will increase.

If you want you can also contact FIA card services at their toll free number 1800.655.1491 which is operative round the clock.

Confused Confused Confused I have no clue about it. If people notice strange stuff on their report, they should call the credit bureau and ask what the heck is this! I have been digging a very deep hole to throw all three bureaus in head first. Credit is good but they seem to forget what my name and address is. Lived at same address for 12 years and had same name for 38 Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked There are also inquiries on there that don't belong because I have no account with company and did not apply for anything. They can not even use excuse of promotions because I have a 7 year opt out on all three bureaus.

Only problem with calling the credit bureaus is either you have to use the automated part or wait on hold forever.

I did a quick google search and I saw something that said it was a credit card company. But then I saw a reference to them making an external deposit into someone's account.

Stan---did you do a google search for the name?

Even I saw a post in the Credit forum that says FIA CSNA credited money in the checking account suddenly! What is this all about?

I am on a credit monitoring system and just had an inquiry posted from FIA CSNA. BofA doesn't show running my credit. Does anyone know if FIA CSNA processes cards for any other card company other than BofA?

FIA CSNA stands for FIA Card Services, N.A., I just got a letter from them telling me they are changing the terms of my credit card account (of course it is to make all the penalties and charges stiffer and to reduce grace period, etc. Harsh terms in other words. The only problem is I cannot identify the account they are referring to!!! All they say is account ending in XXXX (four digits). I don't know I have any such account. MBNA used to service Wachovia's credit card accounts. I think FIA came into the picture when Bank of America bought out MBNA. At that point it Wachovia decided to take the credit cards back and not to give them to Bank of America a prime competitor. I believe FIA basically is trying to hold onto the old Wachovia accounts by setting us dual accounts or retaining the old accounts when Wachovia sent out replacement credit card accounts. Now it seems we have 2 accounts only the FIA one is really mysterious and I don't trust them. I have an address to write to: FIA Card Services, N.A. P.O. Box 15718, Wilmington DE 19850. (They don't give a phone number on this letter.)

I found a phone number for FIA (24/7) 800-655-1491. Just keep pressing zero for a real person or press for a "lost of stolen card" and you will get a live person. It turns out that the letter they sent me had an erroneous credit card number on it. (That kind of bothers me.)

FIA CSNA, is BOFA, and mainly handles BOFA business credit card accounts, and (yes) some personal credit card accounts too.

This company contacted my father saying he owed money. They said that they would deposit the amount owed into his checking account and it would then be withdrawn by Bank of America. Something does not sound right here. If you owe someone money, why would they give you money? Help!

I was curious about this FIA CSNA because, I too, got a letter from them a while back, about changes in my terms & agreement. Unfortunately, the last 4 digits of the account they reference, do not match any thing I know I have...I did a credit report from TU today, it lists them as being in Newark DE, with a phone number of 800-421-2110.

The original documents I got from them, I don't recall seeing a phone number.
