Hi! I'm new to this forum and desperate of answers about ny credit score. I just got done with debt settlements of 5 of my credit card accounts (using an agency, of course) after 2 years of paying them off. As a consequence, my credit history was badly affected and my credit score dropped as low as 496. I'm in the process of paying the balances off my active credit card accounts but what's gettng me worried is that, what if a serious need for a car loan or any other credit application arises and I would be denied. My question is, when does my credit score go back up after settling my debts? will it take years or months?

What do you think of the credit and id monitoring services that is offered by some the credit agencies? I think the one is from consumerinfo, you sign up for 14.95 a month, and receive monthly updates, and monitors you id for theft??!!!!

OH, YEAH!! The information is 'priceless'!! Thanks! I've read MOST of it, but, not all of the info, yet (my PC is running a bit slow, for some reason..LOL). Why waste your money on ONE debt (i.e...PDL's) if you can put your payments toward something else? Someone, above, had stated they are "not getting straight answers from....." I'd be weary about sending money, as well.

I went with a debt settlement company-FDR- and they basically took my money and ran. How do I go about repairing my credit report? Or at least getting notes on it that FDR is a scam of a company that has been shut down from operating in CA by the BBB had/has a cease and desist order vs. them etc.??? I have since paid off 2 of my larger debts they "took over". I have also since paid off2 CC that I kept out of their program. The others which I can not pay off are in a credit counseling program. I really need some guidance here as it is hurting my ability to get a job!! Or so I think!

Is there anything I can do to deal with judgements against me? Is there way to set up payment plans or settle? Also, on judgements that have been paid, is there anyway of having those removed from my report?

I cancelled it two times by just sending them filled out form on their website. Next day I was getting confirmation that my trial is cancelled
