a friend of mine asked if it possible to remove his wife from his credit report....i said i would ask you guys. they are not divorced, happily married actually, except for the overspending on her part.

If they are still married,it might present a problem.Do they have accounts reporting that were opened jointly and are they living in a community property state?

I agree with cajunbulldog - if they have any loans, bank accounts, or credit cards/revolving credit accounts that are in both of their names, they are linked in the credit reports. The only way to change that is to close anything that is joint and start over with separate bank accounts, credit cards, etc.

The reason I mentioned it is sometimes they let you do it but if you have a mortgage reporting monthly as joint,what's the point.Creditor would just slap it back on there.
