I just got notified by Experian that an account with PRISM/CBSD was opened on my behalf, which I didn't request. What it was is Macy's "Upgrading" me to a Citibank Mastercard. I saw an earlier post that stated the same thing, so I think this will be a common problem.

I just received an alert from Experian that a new account had been opened in my name. The account says PRISM/CBSD. CBSD stands for Citibank South Dakota. Thanks to the person who posted the 1 866 510 2761 number, it saved time, worries,money,....

Macy's is buying many other business and take over the old accounts.

I just got notified by Experian that an account with PRISM/CBSD was opened on my behalf, which I didn't request. I have been already involved in a fraud and I know how painful and difficult is to go through this problems.

Thanks one more time to the Guest, who posted the 1-866-510-2761. It was Macy's which is opening new accounts with old other's business accounts.

He/She saved me time, worries, money,...

The number above 1 866 510 2761 is CITIBANK and after verifying, gave the rep my SSN. She determined that it was my old Macy's account that I haven't used in years. CITIBANK "owned" the accounts and converted them to MasterCards. I said it effects my FICO because it appears as a new account (not negative but another account). I was told that's the only way they can do the conversion. Bottom line is: it's not a fraudulent.

Thanks much for the number. I must have called 10 other numbers in vain before I called that one.

They confirmed that they buy up cards of people who haven't used them for a while (Macy's, GoodYear, Radio Shack, Gateway, etc) and convert them to Citi MasterCards.

I received this on my credit report too and it was an upgrade from an old, unused Macy's card. Thanks so much for posting the 866-510-2761 number to cancel it. It was very helpful.

Thanks for the information. I also received an alert for opening up a new account PRISM/CBSD. They upgraded my Macy's card to a mastercard. At least it was no fraud.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

I pulled up the data and it showed a different name on each credit bureau (EquiFax, TransUnion, Experian) with the same address:

1) PRISM/CBSD
2) CCSMC SPECTRUM/CBSD
3) CITIBANK USA,NA/CCSM

PO BOX 6003
HAGERSTOWN, MD 21747

no phone number

Dead on! It was an old Macy's card that was sold to this company
