Dispute the item with the credit bureau and let them investigate with the data furnishers. They will give you the exact information from the creditor if they continue to report it in your file.

re: Consumer has PRISM/CBSD on her
PRISM CBSD is on my credit report too. Opening date of 8/2007 I have had both of my Citi cards longer than that and they both start with 5466160***. The Prism card starts with 52565021***. The credit limit doesn't match with either card.

I just got an alert on my credit report of a new account opening for Prism/cbsd. I haven't opened anything for years. It says it was last week. Is there some place I can call to find out about this?

Hi Christie
As per the Federal law you have the right to dispute any misinformation that is included in your credit report. In my opinion you should send the dispute letter to the bureau as well as the creditor responsible for the inaccuracy. Pull off your credit report and get the contact information of Prism/cbsd; it will be listed at the end of your credit report. I hope it was helpful Take care Nelly |

I just noticed PRISM/CBSD on my report also. I assume this is from Goodyear. I remember them sending me something in the mail stating they were upgrading my account to a new card.

Hi stunner
In my opinion you should get the whole thing clear from Goodyear. Remember ant negative information in your credit report can affect your score. Do not take this matter lightly. Good luck Nelly |

If you have a Goodyear card they sent a notice in the mail and then automatically sent a citibank mastercard to all members without you needing to apply for the card. I recieved the card in the mail and thought it was one of those "fake cards" you get when a company is trying to get you to apply, but looked closer and it was an actual valid card- If it was stolen from the mail you would not even know to miss it.

I just received an alert from Experian that a new account had been opened in my name. The account says PRISM/CBSD. CBSD stands for Citibank South Dakota. Citibank says that since I am a valued customer, they were sending me a new card for an account that I had closed a while back. Nice, huh? I am currently on hold waiting to cancel this "new" acount. What gives them the right to open an account that I did not authorize? If it weren't for my current Upromise account for college savings, I would cancel that account with them, too.

Citibank has been busy...
I also received a new account alert for PRISM/CBSD. Haven't researched it yet but I'm betting it's the Home Equity account they've offerred to me... and which I haven't accepted.

Also found PRISM/CBSD on my Experian report. I disputed. In one day Experian replied, saying they "contacted" creditor (which can be by "automatic verification system") and have "updated" my report. "Update" only says that I dispute the info. There is no tel. #, only PO Box 6003, Hagerstown, MD 21747. Also received equity line offer & haven't applied, BUT the PRISM/CBSD entry on credit report says it's a revolving acct. I'm going to contact CA Atty. General, as many others are finding this mystery entry on their credit report.

if you receive a credit alert with PRISM CBSD call 1 866 510 2761. This is the citibank number for credit and I found out that the macys acct that I had was being upgraded to a master card and I should receive it in a few days. So when I do i will close it...it was for a $9000 open balance. Was relieved it wasnt fraud...

Thank you to the Guest who gave the 866 number. I immediately called it and received the information to know that what was reported was not fraudulent. Macy's should be ashamed of themselves! I did not and do not want this credit card and will cancel it as soon as I receive it in the mail. Macy's said the opt out was to use your Macy's card prior to a certain date and you would not be "upgraded" - obviously a ploy. The number to contact CitiBank is 866-510-2761
