And I got some feedback, I sent one company a dv letter and they in turn sent me a bill, with no summary or anything! Idk if that constitutes as validation, but I figure I will just pay it off

And I sent off a couple letters for a payment for removal, only got one back saying that they could not accept my offer, but I will keep trying

A bill isn't a validation. If it is something you know you owe, I see no problem paying it but otherwise I would demand more info. I need to send letters to some of my paid off items and see if they will delete.
