i need help getting my credit score up so i can open a checking account

As far as I know Checking account has no correlation with credit score.

Look over in the Banking forum for info on Chex Systems. That's the #1 reason for getting declined on a chhecking account.

Many banks and credit unions nowdays do look at credit scores.
But there are more banks out there that don't. You shouldn't have any trouble finding one near you.
Please, do as unclewulf says and check out the banking forum. There are lists of banks available so you can know what reports they check before you apply for the account.
