Good question!
I'm a bit confused also on this... i am an authorized user on one of hubby's credit cards and it shows on my credit report and HAS helped my scores. But on the other hand, i'm also an authorized user on my boss's card and this one does NOT show on my report...
So guess now i've confused u even more! Laughing

I would think that if they have your ssn, then it would be reported to the credit bureaus. I'm an authorized user at work, also, along with maybe 5 others...I know that one doesn't show up.

Fico has stated they will be rescoring their model to ignore authorized users in the future, but I expect a court challenge due to the equal credit opportunity act.I would go for it as my wife and I share each others accounts using AU accounts.

Hi all

I also heard that FICO is stopping the use of authorized user accounts in the calulation of the score. As per the '08 version of the FICO scoring software it will completely bypass any accounts that is listed as Authorized User.

Their decision will be in the court system soon as it would violate the Equal Credit Opportunity Act to ignore all authorized users. If they can setup software to match authorized users to your home address, then they may be safe in changing it.
