If I have sent the debt validation letters out and received 2 responses back of the 3 that I sent out.
One is from Central Financial control on an account from a hospital it seems. Their response is as follows:

Quote:
Our office is in receipt of your fax dated Febuary 27,2007. Please note we are in the process of reviewing and investigating the concerns and issues outlined in your letter. All collection activity has been suspended pending investigation of the same. Our office will reply to your letter upon conclusion of our investigation.

I have yet to hear anything back from them.
So what is the next stop?
The other was from Torres Credit Service which received the dispute letter 2003/12/07 and I have yet to hear back from them. What is the next step on this issue?
I have more question but can we start with these two.

The first one is following the law & was nice enough to give you written proof of it.The second one is also following the law. They don't ever have to validate the debt under federal law as long as they cease collection activities.

And keep in mind that if anything regarding these debts appears on your credit reports, that is considered collection activity by law and must also be removed until such time as validation is provided.

Accurate negative will not be removed from the credit report until they are seven years old from the date of first delinquency.

Paid off collection looks much better than unpaid account, but your credit is already tarnished because of the negative remark. You will add few points on your scores.

It is possible to negotiate with CA to get negatives removed once the account is paid. Some are willing to agree to that just to get their money - but it is always best to get it in writing from them in case they try to back out of their bargain.

At this point i would try and get them to remove the items being that I have paid 3 accounts in full. But i failed to ask them when I paid them off to remove them. A letter hopefully will do the trick. Hopefully!
