How to update account statuses for settled debts

I have a few cc I settled last year. Both have 90 late pays on them. I want to know if there is anything I can do to put them in better standing. The cards are chase and discover. Both were settled for 90 percent of what was owed.

As you've said that you've settled the debts with your creditors/collection agencies, then you can request them to update the status of the account in your credit report as "paid as settled".

I agree with Anna. You can request your creditors to update your account status as “Paid-as-settled” after repaying the debt. You can also make a written request to them to remove the negative items from your credit report purely out of goodwill. But, it depends on their discretion whether or not to accept your request.
