Hi, My name is Angela, I'm very new at this I only discovered this site today. I wish I had found it a year ago when I first started working on clearing up my credit. I lost my job after 9/11 and finally was in a position to start clearing up some of the damage and instead of my scores getting better, they have dropped nearly 100 points even though I have managed to clear up about $20,000.00 worth of debt in the last year. I am starting to wonder if doing the right thing is really worth it!!

Hi Angela, and welcome. Don't get discouraged. I know it's frustrating when you're trying so hard to clean up your credit and don't see any benefit to it. However, potential creditors are going to look at your recent history, and you will benefit from attempting to clear your debt. You're showing a pattern now of paying off your debt, and that's a great thing to be able to show on your credit report. Hang in there. Your points will eventually start going up.
