Last year I noticed a collection account on my credit report for my ex-husband's dental work. I wasn't sure what it was at first and just disputed with the 3 credit agencies, they all came back and said they verified the debt. So then I contacted the collection agency directly and they told me about the dental bill. I contacted the dentist got a copy of the charges and sent the dentist a copy of my divorce papers and the little contact info I had for my ex-husband, I haven't heard anything from them since, I wrote to them again asking for confirmation that the debt was removed from my report and was ignored. The collection agency said they sent the debt back to dental office. This was all as of October 2007.
Last month I check my credit report again and Exquifax & TransUnion have removed the debt but Experian has not. I wrote to Experian and explained everything that went on and that the other agencies have removed the debt and they just gave me some robot response that because they previously verfied the debt they will not re-investigate. Is it ok for them to do that?
