So Ive decided to dispute stuff on my report. What are the next steps? What's the best address to send this stuff to? What type of letter do I send? Are there form letters I can use?
Thanks

Welcome to the forums..The easiet way and least exspensive is to dispute online. You can go to all of their websites and do the disputes. Here are the websites...Transunion www.transunion.com Experian www.experian.com and Equifax www.equifax.com Let me know if you need anything else...

All the items you find disputed in your credit report should be reported to the CRA reporting. You can do an online dispute or write a letter. They will investigate on the items you highlighted and send you an updated copy.
Edit this letter according to your needs and send through certified mail, return receipt requested. You can also do it online by following the instructions in their website.

I think that your letter is great. But doing it online will assure you they get it in a few hours, and it will eliminate the cost of sending them certified mail. You don't have to pay anything b/c you get a free report to go by, and they also mail you a revised copy..

What if they say, your dispute was never received by them. You won't have any proof to track your dispute sent. A letter is a better option in that case because the date when the letter was sent will be printed in the receipt.

I would do both. Online you get a confirmation number for each dispute. I did it this way and was successful with getting quite a few items knocked off. Doing both would be a good way to cover your butt so to speak.

If you dispute online, just print out the sheet. Besides, the bureaus are pretty good about keeping track of your dispute. And you can go back and see online that you have disputes being investigated. I did mine online and it was a lot easier. Plus I could track the progress of my disputes.
