Besides the FTC, I'm going to try my State's Attorney Office and the BBB. My bank also offered a dispute of unauthorized charges Equifax has been hitting me for two entire years without my knowledge or authorization.

Anybody else with more consumer protection agency recomendations? Is this something that your local state or federal representatives might be interested in taking up?

Suggestions Anyone?

I have just now been run thru issues that I see are common to many people and has been ongoing since 2008 (yes?)(with equifax online). I also tried to get an honest report...thanks to all of you for your efforts...much info and I will not attempt the foolish process...Would rather help fight this if you can bring me up to speed on this forum. This format is new to me... Obviously we are having these problems at a bad time as we are looking for answers to immediate problems. They know this. I will focus if you can. How can I contribute? Will answer attorney above for now

Equifax (freecreditreport.com) and their credit reporting tracking is a scam, I used their pay service and disputed bad data watch my score per their paid site go up. request home loan from Chase and Equifax reported a 146 point lower score to them.

When I call Equifax (freecreditreport.com) to inquire they say it wasnt thier problem talk to Chase.

Thanks for sharing your experience regarding freecreditreport.com. Guess what??? I was about to use it in order to check out my credit scores. However, after reading your experience, I decided not to go for it.

You can get a free credit report annually from annualcreditreport.com. As far as I know you'll receive correct credit score reporting from there. This will help you know where you stand in terms of credit and whether or not you can get a loan.

I'd agree with Anna. annualcreditreport.com is certainly a good source to obtain a free CR.

Filing a complaint with the Attorney General's Office will be a good move.

So unbelievably irritated with Equifax today. I got my credit report just fine but tried to order the score for the $7.95 offer. The website timed out and when you try to get back into it, the offer isn't there anymore. Called customer service today and got the major runaround -- basically she told me that I could pay her $15.95 to get it. I told her I wanted the $7.95 that I was offered on the website and she told me to go back to the website to get it. I explained that it wasn't there -- repeat this conversation about 4 times and me finally getting frustrated. Essentially the end of the conversation was: "so you're telling me that no one at Equifax can help me?" "no" "Well thanks for your no help *click*". Honestly, I NEVER get this frustrated when dealing with customer service -- I realize it's just $7 bucks, but *$&#*#, the offer was there. Their frickin' website didn't work, so how is that my problem?? *grrr* I sent them a note that I wanted to talk to a customer service manager. Also went through the customer contact form on annualcreditreport.com and they don't have any phone numbers. Tried to explain in there webform and it failed to submit (go figure). Sent another one that basically said call me and that worked. I'm betting I'll never hear from anyone...
