credit reports
Its said that you are entitled to free credit report. I would like to know how can I get that free report? very place I have checked wants money for a free credit report

This is the official site. It is run in cooperation with all three of the major bureaus, and they will not charge you a penny or ask for a credit card.

Thats true but their is a catch. Its not really a catch but if you want to know your score there is a charge. But as long as you don`t request your credit score it is truely free. Debtcruncher is correct. It is the only website that is endorsed by the FTC. All these other site that say they are free want to sign up for something.

Correct, you'll never get your scores for free until legislation is passed that requires it.
I never tried to get my score through annualcreditreport.com, so I never had them asking for my credit card. And as I remember they were't trying to cram that down my throat either that I should order the scores. Aside, I've been to a number of these other places that will give you "30 days free trial", and they let you pull your reports once in those 30 days. They bank on the fact that most people forget to cancel within those 30 days, and so then they bill your credit card. But I always remember to cancel (I put it on my calendar), and I've never actually been charged. The other thing too, is that you're entitled to a free report anytime you're rejected on a credit application (as long as the creditor actually pulled your credit). I wouldn't suggest applying for credit just to get a free report, because the inquiry will drop your score; but nonetheless if you have been turned down you can get a free credit report that way too.

Yep...everyones correct. You can get the CR'sb ut not your score. I REALLY need to get mine to see what debts will be 'dropping off' soon. I know there are a few of them.
