I realized that GEMBCHEVRO is listed as a tradeline on my credit report but, I don't know who it is. It shows opened in 1997 and apparently it's now closed/paid. It shows a credit limit of $300 and it's current. It shows two "OK" marks for TransUnion for April and May of this year and I haven't used a credit card for years up until this month.
I used to have a Chevron card (listed as CHEVRON) but, it was closed a long time ago. I've sent numerous disputes to the bureaus.... is this some sort of error? WHO IS GEMBCHEVRO? __________________

Any chance thats an update/dispute error by the bureaus? I had a Chevron card but, it's long since closed and no recent activity.

Is it reporting as a derogatory?

Actually, no. It doesn't look bad on there at all but, I know I personally didn't cause any of the activity they show in April and May. It's oddly similar to the CHEVRON tradeline but, it's years later.......... and it's got activity all of the sudden. Coincidence? :?:

Most probably they are updating their update database with the bureaus. If it is a positive account, just let it sit nice & pretty on your reports.

I think Chevron sold all their credit accounts to GEMB several years back. GEMB will let a derogatory sit with no update for months and sometimes years with no update and then BAM! they'll update the TL and hit your FICO. A closed account is not helping your FICO but it's not really hurting it either. As long as it shows good history let it be. It will drop eventually but I have TL's from auto's paid off in the early 90's still showing on my reports w/an estimated removal of 2012. YMMV

I have one from 1991 still there and I will let it sit as long as possible. This positive account helps my average age quite a lot.
