Hello -

welcome to the forums! If you signed up for the credit counseling session when you registered for this site, you will receive a phone call from a consultant who will offer you some ideas on debt consolidation or settlement programs.

You are not obligated to use their services - you may select another consolidation or settlement firm if you wish.

If you haven't pulled a current copy of your credit report, that's a good place to start. Go to https://www.annualcreditreport.com/ - it's free, once per year, or when you have been denied credit. There is no program to sign up for, and no fee involved unless you decide to obtain your credit score in addition to the reports from all three bureaus.

Please feel free to post any additional questions you have - we're here to help! Very Happy

Just don't fall for those credit repair places. For the most part, they just take your money. But do pull your credit report.

The best way to repair your credit is to get caught up on your bills and stay that way. Might take a little time, but that is the best way. (And I know about that time thing....doing it myself!)

Pull your credit copies from all the bureaus and go through it thoroughly. You need to know if there is any inaccurate reporting done by the data furnishers, because that will lower your scores.

Your credit scores is the key to get good deals from the future lenders and at lower interest rates. Good luck!
