honestly i made some wrong decisions with credit cards,and school loans. i was out of work for a while and couldn't afford to pay my school loan back. now i'm in a position where i can't get approved for anything, car or home. i want to purchase a home and i need to take out a loan and i can't because of my credit score. help me please.  thanks for listening. -tamara byrd-

Tamara, you need to call your creditors and explain your financial problems and possibly work out a payment plan with them. Request them to drop down the interest rates and assure that you will stick to the plan. I hope they will agree to work on your terms. If not, you may seek some professional help from a debt counselor.
Regarding your student loans, have you thought about forbearance? You will get some extra time in clearing the account and the interest rates will also be quite affordable. Speak to your lender and set up a payment plan according to your situation in writing
