If they are a professional like a doctor or lawyer they can as long as they are registered! Can Joe from the bar that you owe 20 bucks to on a bet? No!

They won't take onesies and twosies ... You would have to setup an account with each of the bureaus you want to report to. They make you sign all sorts of indemnity and hold harmless agreements in case you violate the law by your reporting.

Not only is that a big ordeal, but when you want to report, they only accept electronic formats (MetroII). You either have to pay a data vendor to translate/submit your data for you, or else you need to learn MetroII and how to code your own files. (Every month, our data vendor charges us $75 + 2 cents per record to report to the bureaus.)

I think you will find that is way too much to report one or two accounts.

ALTERNATIVELY, if you really want to report someone's debt to the bureaus, you could sue them. Most courts are tied into Lexus-Nexus and they automatically report to the bureaus. If you get a judgment against someone, most likely it will show up on their credit report.
