Been looking all over the web with no real luck and was hoping someone here could help. I have a few old debts I need to clear off my credit history as well as a few state/federal tax issues, not to mention a realistic need for some major financial planning education. I have no credit card debt because I have not had any credit cards for many years since I got in trouble with them earlier in my life and did not wish to repeat that mistake although I realize that one might be necessary to help get my credit score up eventually. Almost every company out there I can find requires credit card debt to qualify for their services. Anyone know of a company that could help with in my situation or perhaps could point me in the right direction of what type of professional I should be looking for?

Many thanks

Well, as far as your taxes are concerned, you will be liable for paying them in full. If you owe the debts to the IRS, then you should contact them and set up a payment plan in order to get rid of the debt in an affordable manner. As far as other debts are concerned, you should speak to the professional debt relief companies and take their assistance in consolidating or settling those debts. This community offers a list of professional debt relief companies which you may check out out for your benefit: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com...s/usa-listing/ .

Ditto on the tax issue.

Unpaid tax liens are particularly onerous. In addition to being a major derog, they have the unique distiction amongst reported adverse items of information of not being excluded from your credit report after a period of time that is pegged to the occurance of the adverse action itself.
Unpaid tax liens are pegged to the date of payment of the tax lien, and thus the 7 year clock does not even start ticking until paid.

You want to get those taxes cleared up as soon as possible. As they sit unaddressed, they are accruing penalties and interest.

As for the tax debts, you can try to talk to the IRS about this and pay off the federal tax as fast as possible. But, with regards to the other debts that you have, can you please give more details on the debts? If these are secured or unsecured and so on.
