What is the status of the account? Have you paid it off?

You may need to send the GW letter to remove the negative entry from the credit report. Here you'd find the format. Please make the necessary changes in it before sending.

What is GW?

I sent this collection agency a DV and they verified it. After I received the verification, I sent them 2 settlement offers/PDLs but they haven't responded to either.

Respectfully, what you should do is pay the money you owe. If we have reported it, you can be sure it's a legitimate debt. You need to contact us immediately to make arrangements to pay this.

Also, did they validate your debt or simply give you some numbers on a piece of paper. And to the LVNV rep--that is nort true, I know of several others, including myself, that the debt has not been right.

Make sure that they are legally bound to collect the debt and then you can go from there. Make sure that you take notes, keep copies and get everything in writing before dealing with anyone to protect yourself.

I am not saying to not pay your debt, but to make sure that whoever is trying to collect,is the one who is suppossed to be,a nd that the amount is correct. Be carefull of speaking with LVNV, take notes when you can- I have caught them violating several things in the past..Good Luck..karen

Legitimate debt my ass....I just resolved today and account that you guys have been harrassing me about that was settled with the original company three years agoooooo....Its amazing how nobody every received the proof I faxed until I threaten to get my own attorney. LVNV is the crookedest company around and you can bet your ass I will be reporting you to the credit bureau.....

DO NOT PAY LVNV! If you settle with them they will most likely sell the remainder of your debt to another collection agency..I sent them a debt verification request to which they never responded to..they did however continue to call and after I recorded 7 conversations I found 43 violations of my rights..I now have a lawyer that is about to drop the ball on them.

These LVNV horrors are now using the names of LAW FIRMS and sending letters about a debt that doesn't even exist! Regarding an account that was NEVER EVEN opened and for the wildest amounts...Is this the latest fraud/scam or WHAT?!?! Word to the wise...if you get a letter with LVNV Funding LLC as an assignee and purchaser of another company (like Chase or Citibank etc) then note this: they are saying that they bought your debt and you now owe them. They are also not considering the fact that you can check your own credit report for FREE every year, and your credit report will show if you have a debt that has been late for several months or even years...if the debt isn't even on your credit report how in the hell can you owe it to them? ANY reputable company reports to one or all of the three credit bureaus, and they won't hesitate to report when your late enough to go to collections....and you can trust that the credit bureaus don't erase a damn thing for about seven to ten YEARS...
