Midland Financial reported to Experian that I owed them $420 (which I don't) I disputed it with Experian about a month ago and haven't heard anything yet. I just went to check it again and it is now saying This account is scheduled to continue on record until April 2015.This item was verified and updated on Dec 2008." Does this mean that Experian verified the debt? I have requested debt verification 5 times in writing from Midland and once about 3 weeks ago over the phone because they contacted me (despite my no cease and desist letter, which I forwarded them AGAIN then next morning. I told the women that I wanted the debt verified and she said her supervisor would send it out the next day and of course I have nothing! How do I get this thing off my credit. I am getting really annoyed now!!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.. I live in NY

I would send the CR & Midland Financial a copy of the NY laws prohibting payday lenders in the state of NY. And dispute the entry again. If they still refuse to remove it, you have grounds for a lawsuit.

Thanks. I did dispute it again today with Experian. I'll send them a copy of the laws too.

I contacted Experian this morning. I cannot believe how easy it is for people to put stuff on your credit and when you dispute it how easy it is for them to leave it on!!!! Experian told me that they wrote this company a letter telling them that I disputed the entry and that I did not request services from them. They wrote back and said yes she did and that is that. Experian will not take it off my credit report and says that I only the creditor can. I cannot believe this. I have requested validation, and I told Experian this, but the company will not provide it to me. I also told them that PDL's were illegal in my state so I didn't understand how they could put an item on my CR. She said they had to be legal or they would not be able to put it on my CR. Now I'm just confused and mad. I'm going to launch another complaint with the AG, FTC and BBB. If anyone has any info or suggestions, I'd love to hear them. I have 7 different telephone numbers for this company, a fax number and 2 addresses. I am going to bombard them with verification letters, its the only thing I can think of doing.
