I'm amazed at all the people in the same boat. I recently found out NCS says I owe $202 for Columbia House account from 2004. I moved in 2003 so there's no way I ordered from them and can only assume that someone that moved in after me signed up in my name.

I'm not planning to pay until I've exhausted every avenue for getting this removed, but was wondering if NCS actually does take off the credit mark if the payment is made.

Oh my goodness.........reading many of the posts sounds identical to mine. They said they notified me back in November of 2008, and it is a debt owed to BMG from back in 2004. They say I owe $124.00, and if I pay it, they will immediately take it off my credit report. The only way I knew it was on there was I just happened to pull my credit report a few weeks ago, and it was already on there. I was told there is only 3 states where you have to be notified before it gets posted on your credit report. All of this feels like a scam. I have been told to request a copy of the bill that proves that I owe it. When I did this, I was first told that the debt was verified because they have my social security number.
When I pressed the issue, I was told I had to request a copy of the bill in writing, and then it could take 30-90 days for anything to be resolved. But if I wanted to pay it right away, they could have it off my credit report by the following Friday of the same week. Again, this feels like a big scam.

Here are the addresses that I have found on this company:
NCS of Oklahoma LLC
PO Box 15779
Oklahoma, OK 73155-0779
and / or
Jerry Evans (maybe the owner or principal)
19800 SE 72nd St
Newalla, OK 74857-8324

I have received a number of calls from them about debts that I have not paid. Of course I didnt pay them, I dont owe them. All of my debts are either paid or being paid. They cannot provide me with documentation that I owe any debts they are claiming that I owe. They are calling my work number after they have been asked not to call my work. They call my house any time day or night. They normally use an automated machine to call which is in violation of Indiana laws - as I am on the do not call list. When I called them back - they hung up on me three times and the fourth time I got a rep who insisted that I owed a bogus debt. He said that if I dont pay the debt he will put it on my credit report. I have never not had an account with BMG for over 10 years and it was paid off when I closed it. Now they have come up with a another debt in which I have never heard of the company.
IAW the Fair Debt Collection Act they are violating most every aspect of the act. I am in the process of sending them a latter and I will be forwarding a copy of the letter to the Attorney General of Oklahoma.
Hope any of this information will help someone else.

I am going to closing on a home and I have 13 days to get this off my report or my VA loan gets cancelled because I can have 0 collections. I disputed with experian but does anyone know how long this takes. I cant let my home fall through for a $184.00 BS charge. so....what do I do? Can i pay and fight it later? Can I pay with a CC and dispute the charge? I need to know asap, as I am closing on a house NOW. Any help at all would be great!

I am also in the same situation. Pulled up the credit report today and in it listed a balance owed to National Credit Solutions supposedly have a status date of 03/27/2010 with a amount of $162. I have no memory of either buying anything for this amount or have any clue about this business not to mention never recieved anything from them to prove the validity of this 'balance' prior to this. I am outrage about this and would like to take care of this the best way possible. I already am suffering from a bad credit and to have something like this to put my when i don't even have a knowledge of is really taking a toll on my entire score. I cannot afford this kind of problem right now and interested in taking whatever action i can take to take care of this. This is ridiculous!

That wouldn't work unless they will remove all derogatory TL's from the CR. A paid collection is just as bad as an unpaid.

contact your office of attorney general. I filled out a form forwarded all info I had and request that BMG show me the original authorizing signature. Two weeks later I recieved a letter that the colection has been dropped and NCS will be deleting it from my credit file. if you are a victim use the government powers to your advantage.

This is a clear violation of my rights, to dispute debt before it is but on my credit report. As per the fair debt collection act. If I can find 4 other people with the same complaint I plan on sueing National Credit Solutions, you should consider at the very least disputing thr debt, and contacting the ftc, and your Attorney General. Companies like this make me sick, with what thay think they can get away with. If you need any help, or want to talk post again on here.
having the same problem with the BMG scam. does anyone have any ideas how to fight this and come to an amblicle resolution?

I was so upset because i never saw this item before until now. I had read the report and apparently it was first reported to this company national credit solutions back in december 2008. I never received any type of written notice from national credit solutions based in oklahoma city, ok whatsoever on this debt.
I tried to dispute the item through the credit report website and received investigative results of this matter and it was complete. I do recall receiving some music items from bmg but that has been awhile ago at least 2-3 years ago.
I have the collection agency's telephone number but i am very hesitant about calling them and would rather communicate with them in writing in trying correct the issue and have the derogatory item deleted from my credit report in exchange for payment as soon as possible.
I am willing to settle the account for the amount owed providing that i receive the collection deletion off my creditor report in return for that payment .
I have already written the collection agency a letter via postal mail and sent it certified and receipt requested, signature, have emailed and faxed that same letter in regards to making a full payment in exchange for deletion from my experian credit report.
I would like to receive written correspondence from the national credit solutions on their company letterhead and a name and a legible signature.
I am hoping that i hear something from this company soon because i would like to have this matter resolved as soon as possible
is there a general turnaround time to find out, if the collection agency accepts your offer. How does that work? Any information or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

go call justin..i talked to him a couple of months ago and he told me if paid in full they can remove from my credit report..so i went ahead and paid since i was getting a house and it raised my score 64 points and was removed from my credit also..

Also the date it shows is this first date it was reported to credit..these are all normally about3-5 years old..bmg and columbia house both do warehouse billing..wich means its store after sending a bill till they get something like 10000 of them and disperse them all to select agencies to collect than..

Thank you all for the information. NCS is trying to collect $118.66 from me on behalf of BMG. The date on my credit report shows December 2008.

I have mailed and faxed a validation letter to NCS (I'm slightly beyond the 30-day window but hoping they'll respond anyway). I'm not expecting much from this as others have said the information they received from NCS wasn't helpful. I have also sent a letter to my state (OR) attorney general. I'll let you know what happens.
