Different kinds of entries have different lifespans.

-Defaults 7 years
-Chap 13 BK 7 years
-Chap 7 BK 10 years
-Judgments 10 years
-Tax liens 15 years

You can attempt to dispute anything, while there is no gaurantee that you will be successful, you won't get anything if you don't try.

What kinds of items are shown in your credit report? Too many unpaid items on the file cause bad credit. You will have to make arrangements with the creditors and pay their debts. This will improve your scores. Also check for any incorrect items if they are listed on your file. If you find any, dispute those with the bureaus and get it removed ASAP. This should also raise your scores.

Here's some easy ways to fix your credit ratings.

There is no plan to erase bad debt.Pull your credit reports from www.annualcreditreport.com and review them for any errors. All reports must report accurately. If you find mistakes then dispute the account. For any unpaid items try a pay for delete settlement. For any paid items try writing a goodwill letter.Good luck.
