|
|
I used to have two entrys on my CR for NextCard and NextCard/Mastertrust and since I settled with the Collection Agency that was handling this bankrupt company they updated my report by.......... completely omitting it.
I settled for between 50-60% and they still removed it completely. Without me asking either! Obviously, I need to watch my CR's closely to see if it pops up again. It's been off for about a month.
Anyone else dealt with NextCard, well I guess that's impossible since they don't exist anymore. What about Platinum Recovery Solutions?

That's great news! I used to have a NextCard many years ago, but paid it off.

I wished I had paid it off years ago along with all my other bills! I sure hope it stays off my CR because my CR looks better without it!
Any other horror stories of trying to find or pay off this debt?

I also had NextCard on mine, same situation with the double reporting.
Pretty much exactly what you are describing happened to me, except that I put in a dispute to the CRA's and then worked something out with the CA (50% ) to pay it off. What I think happened is that I paid it, the verification request came through and they said they don't have any open accounts in my name, so it was pulled.

that's great news parrotttony, I sure hope it stays off for you! Isn't it nice where there is an error IN your favor? It sure doesn't happen very often, eh?

That's great Parrotttony! Did you request the collection agency to send you anything in writing about this agreement. If not you still may want to call and ask that they send you something. You never know what may happen later on and it would be good to have some proof that this should be off your credit reports just incase it shows back up again.

That is good advice smckaybiz...make sure you get everything in writing and save it so you have a paper trail to fall back on.

I was so glad that I had kept stuff that I never thought I'd need (errrmmm actually I only kept it because I had forgotten that the box of old papers was there underneath my computer table!), it has really come in handy!
