So I talked to one of the CA who holds a collection account of mine. This was about two weeks ago. We agreeded on a settlement amount. She also said that she would delete from my credit report. She told me that day that she was going to send me a settlement letter. She told me that she would send me a paid for delete letter after payment was received.I still havent got the settlement letter. She said last week that she was going to send it. Still havent got it. She said today that she would fax it to me. Still havent got it. Called her back still havent got it. You guys get the point right? I tried to call her and she is ignoring my calls. Should I pay this without a settlement letter? I have already made one payment to them. I feel like I am going to get screwed.Any advice would be helpful.

No payment until you receive the agreement in writing.

How old is the debt? What is the statute of limitation in your state?

Have you tried mailing her? I would have preferred recorded conversation with a collector to be able to produce those later on in the court if required.

No letter,no payment. I have dealt with CAs with heavy accents so I ask for everything in writing. That way accent or not, no can do the "he said she said". If a mistake is made and the wrong amount is ACHed from your account it is a b**ch to get your money back.

This is the weird thing about this debt. It was from an overdrawn bank account. The account was closed in 03. That would be my date of first delinquency right? I live in cali. I have already made a 35 dollar payment. Hopefully that doesnt start the SOL over. I have heard from a collection agency that it doesnt. Thanks for the help people.
