Hi All,
First off, I just want to say thank you to the contributors to this website. This is an information goldmine with very helpful discussion and topics.
I am in the process of applying for a house loan; my credit reports came back with reports around 700 which is not allowing me to secure the best interest rate. On these three credit reports, I do have a series of 'derogatory' entries from Verizon. Long story short: in 2005, I failed to respond to a single late payment notice and my $55 dollar debt (worth a month of DSL / phone service) was sent to a collection agency. I acted immediately and settled for this amount and a very small processing fee with the collection agency.
Only issue is that now, it shows up on my account. The name of the collection agency does not pop up in the 3 entries so I think I should deal directly with Verizon to see whether they are willing to remove these entries.
My question is:
Does anyone know the actual name(s) and address of people I should address a goodwill letter to?
Any insight would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance!

You can get the sample goodwill letter from this link:

Please, do remember that the creditor/CA is not bound to remove the derogatory item from your credit report purely out of goodwill.
