I guess that you are aware of the outstanding balance with your creditors. Give them a call and work out payment arrangements. You might convince them to reduce the interest rates on your debts. Once they accept your arrangement, stick to the plan. Your credit scores will go up after they update your file with the bureaus.

Although my wife and I have a good combined income, some medical and other problems with our adult children took a lot of resources to resolve, and we ended up with a substantial debt problem and low credit scores. Despite all the words about how terrible some - or most - creditors are, I found that they were usually fairly easy to work with as long as I accepted responsibilty for what I owed and kept a positive attitude. Almost all were willing to reduce the interest rates at least. Now that most problems have been resolved, and all my credit payments are back on track, my credit score is rising more quickly that I thought it would. I am confident that you can work out arrangements that you can live with. Best of luck to you!

In my opinion you should pay off the most critical bill and then slowly try to fix up the other bills. You can pay off the non necessary bills like cable TV bills, book store bills later when you will be more financially stable. Always remember that the only way to improve your credit score is - manage your funds efficiently. Very Happy

Remember to pay your essentials first. After housing, utilities, food, clothing, and basic medical needs are met, then start paying back your debts.

And most importantly, propose a payment plan that you know you can realistically live with! I have found in my past struggles that the one thing that has done me in in the past was agreeing to payment plans that I knew I couldn't live with. Once they are broken, then you have that ding on your record and it's all the more harder to get out.

Yes it is important to go for those payment plans that are tailored to fit your needs. You will unnecessarily burden yourself with plans that do not fit in your budget.
