Just guessing, but I'm thinking it is a reference to skiptracing.

Looking for you (or more specifically, your contact info). Some CAs are more efficient and more effective than others; with thousands upon thousands of accounts, not every debtor is located and contacted in a timely manner. In the event of a CA collecting several accounts belonging to the same person, there are many variables (old software being a primary reason) that may lead to an effective collection of one account, yet leave the other account untouched.

isn't skip tracing most often used after debt is out of SOL?
most don't need the skip tracing search if it is actually current?
possibly.... a very stupid question ..sorry if it is!

Sure, the older the debt, the more likely the debtor has moved and/or changed telephone numbers.
