I just received an email from one of my PDL's saying that if I didn't call them they would report me to teletrack(not that I want any more PDL's) and consumer credit report. Is this a scare tactic?

I have dealt with about 15 PDL's and only 3 of them reported me to teletrak....but like LCW said, only PDL's use it so it didn't really cause a problem for me, especially since I wasn't trying to get anymore PDL's.

Yes it does. Banks and some merchants use teletrack. Especially the large stores. If you're in teletrack these merchants can refuse your check, causing some highly embarrassing moments! lol
You can google them and go directly to their website. They have a form you can download and send to them for a report on your account.

That's what I did, I called Teletrak and had them send me a report. Different stores use different companies for their checks. I thought Teletrak was strictly for PDL's but I guess I was wrong. I have written several checks since those items were on my report and I haven't been turned downed yet..thank goodness. That would be quite embarrassing.

Yup..banks will report you to teletrack if you have an account that's still open with a negative balance and such.
Also, if you bounce alot of checks, they'll report you too.
Some pdl's get pissy and will report you, but alot of them won't.

I thought banks use Chexsystem and TeleTrack is exclusively used by payday lenders. Am I wrong?

Just heard from an attorney regarding them...
Heres' what he said:
Most banks use Chexsystems, some will use Teletrack. But it all depends on the bank!

So there you go...sorry for the misinfo folks. My bank at SunTrust used Teletrack for the longest time.
