I have heard Lexington law does a good job and there are a couple others whose name slip me right now. They don't do anything that you can't do yourself. All they do is send challege letters to the reproting agencies for any entries that you think should be removed. They ask that you do this a few each month. They bank on the odds that the company that reported to the agency will not be able to substatiate the entry for various reasons. Lack of help, lost paperwork, age etc.
Beware of companies that claim they can do it in a short while. They challenge everything and the items are remmoved for thirty days. You pay them before the thirty days and the items wind up back on your report and you are out your money. Beware!

Be very careful with these companies I know someone who hired one of these companies and she lost about $450, Frog is correct you can do it yourself I just disputed some items with transunion and received the update stating that 3 of my accounts were deleted from my credit. If you dispute your accounts the creditors have 30 days to respond to the credit bureaus and some of the creditors don't reply and the accounts get deleted from your credit report. You might want to try doing it yourself before you hire any company and pay all that money. Good Luck!

Beware of these so called credit repair companies. They target consumers who are overwhelmed with debt and are having a tough time in rebuilding damaged credit reports and credit scores. They make false promises of fixing bad scores for a fee. But the fact is they can’t deliver. I have seen some of my friends paying them hundreds and hundreds of dollars in fees - but the result was - THEY VANISHED WITH THE MONEY. (SUCH CROOKS). Rather than improving your credit, these companies will throw you deeper in debt.

Yeah just be cautious, whatever company you're thinking of please type it in this sites search bar because you'll see real people who have encountered these places and what their experiences are. also the BBB is a great resource as well and don't be afraid to type it into google either. though you will probably get biased search results if the company pays the money to market, you should still see reviews and such on whatever company you're thinking of.
That aside, I have to agree that if you can do it yourself please try to do that because no one takes care of you better than you and you know you're doing things right. see what steps you can take to better your credit on your own, may take some time but that's ok...trust me in time your scores will go up if you actively pursue getting it done

hi resy

You can repair your credit yourself. The first thing you should do is to order your credit reports. You can log in to annualcreditreport.com to access your report online for free. Once you get your report, examine whether there are any errors or not. If there are errors then dispute it with the CRA as well as the source of information. Secondly you have to create a feasible budget. While making the budget take into account your all source of income and expenses. And please do not forget to save some money as emergency fund. Once the budget and the spending plan is created , prioritize your bills. You have to regularly pay at least the minimum due every month..that would only help you in building up your credit score. Once the debts start disappearing start looking for secured cards to bump up your score.

These are some of the ways to repair your credit, which you can do it on your own.
Take care
Nelly
