I have an old unpaid phone bill from Talk America and now it has went to an attorney. I wrote within 30 days and asked for a debt validation and they sent me back 20% of the things I asked them for in validation and I sent them another letter asking for more information. My question is that if I want to work with Talk America directly to get the bill paid can I and am I still responsible for their $145.00 lawyer's fee?

Lawyer's fees?? Shocked

some collection agencies identify themselves as the office of attorney, which they are not in actuality. Don't settle the loan until and unless you receive proper validation from them.
