Obviously you have no life if all you can do is sit on the computer and criticize people whom you don't know everything about. Trust me your comments have no affect on me which is why all I do is laugh when I read them.

i received a call on my job today from a lynn at bass and associates claiming that I was goin to be picked up for an account i had at FSM. They also state that i could losed my job if they faxed it and that i had to send it today (all of it). then she stated that if i could send at least part of it, then that would hold the affirmation action. she stated that i had been red flagged as of today and that if i did not pay it today, i could be picked up either at my job or my physical address. she state that my bank not FSM had turned the case over to them. I called my bank and they did not have a clue. I asked for the affidavid number for the case and all she gave me was the case. she statede that i could not send it threw the mail but threw moneygram and i would need to call them back with the code for receipt of the moneygram. I am in the process of finding out if this is a ligimate company. What else do I need to do?

seb,

No is going to come to your job and arrest you. This is a threat. They think that if they threaten they will get the money quicker. They can't threaten you with your job. They have committed numerous violations in regards to the fdcpa. Do not send them a dime! Send them a debt validation letter certified mail with return receipt. Do not send them anything by money gram. Also, you need to file a complaint against them for the threats they issued. In the complaint, be sure to give the name of the person you talked to and the time of the call.

tammy,
I have been doing some research and the city they gave me was Jax, Florida. According to the Florida directory and maps there is no such city. Who do I need to file a complaint with and can yo ugive some pointers on how to get their physical address?

Its Jacksonville, Florida and more than likely they are Ellis Crosby in disguise. They issued you a threat of losing your job if they faxed to your work. That is a strict violation of the fdcpa. Telling you that you will be picked up is another violation. I will look and see if I can find a physical address. Why don't you sign up in the forums? You will find tons of information.
