Bass & Associates-(AKA- BASS ENTERPRISES)
9678 ARLINGTON EXPRESSWAY
JANCONSIVLLE, FLORIDA
32225
EXT.312-- Suzanne Thompson
Money Gram-
City-Jax
St. Fl.

I know all this because i was stupid and pd. $527.50 through money gram. now waiting to get my rcpt. Well, i did call them back and the guy ended hanging up on me. After they threatened me, i too was scared. So, i knew i had something out there and pd it. But, after $202.00 more... I could just kick myself. Then on Friday i informed this guy of i was letting the BBB know about this. Had contacted our local sheriffs office and local office to see if this was right. HE HUNG UP ON ME!! I`m just waiting for the next call....

Please, don't worry. These threats are becoming all to common among these collection agencies. They are violating the fdcpa by issuing threats. You will not be arrested, they will not send the sheriff to your job, they can't cost you your job, you will not be charged with internet fraud. You need to immediately file a complaint with the Florida Attorney General and be sure in the complaint to give the person's name that issued the threat and list all threats issued by the person. They are committing a crime and they have to be stopped. If I remember right, you can go to the Florida AG site and file an online complaint. Do not send them a dime.

Send them a cease and desist letter certified mail with return receipt, and also fax it to them. You can demand that they quit calling your job. If it gets worse, call the sheriffs department and file a complaint against them for harassment. If your boss fires you over their harassment, you need to sue them for loss of your job! That is a very strict violation of the fdcpa. No collection agency can cost a person their job. Who is the orginal creditor of this account? You can contact the orginial creditor and let them know what this agency is doing, and I have heard of the oc taking the account back and making arrangments. Like I stated above DO NOT send Bass & Associates anymore money. Chances of the money you have already sent them, they never turned over to the original creditor. There is an extremely high chance they are illegally collecting the debt. Have you made them validate the debt to prove they legally have the account? Their actual name is Bass Prelitigations.

GUERRA,

Go to the Florida Attorney General site and their is an online complaint form to fill out. You do not have to directly deal with Bass! They have verbally refused validation. Here is the link to the complaint section of the Florida AG.

shells1777,

Go to the California Attorney General site and you can also file an online complaint.

Have you made them validate to prove they actually have the debt? This company has committed several violations in regards to the fdcpa. They have threatened people, harassed people. Do not send them anything more til they provide you the proof they actually have the account. Make them send the proof certified mail with return receipt. Do you know who the original creditor is? Do not be worried about this. This company is running a big scam and people who scam, do get caught. You also need to make the AG in Florida aware of this. Be sure when you file the complaint, you give all names that has called you, list all the threats, etc that they have done.

listen, i have dealt with these folks also. the only thing they told me is that a civil case could come of this. now dont get me wrong, they can be abrasive but i have been sued and rec'd a judgement so i just wanted to get this taken care of. but what is truly disturbing on this forum is that the moderators seem to only try to fuel a fire that doesnt exist. tammy, your gross negligence as a moderator is truly disturbing. look i am just reflecting on my personal experience, and it was nothing like some people here are stating, and the moderators on this sight seem to be drumming up propaganda based on a general hatred of collection agencies in general. therefore should be ashamed of themselves. IMO
