I had a call, at work, from a guy named R. Bell. He scared the hell out of me, tell me that my bank was going to bring me up on charges as head of an internet fraud. I am calling a lawyer.

Guest, please take a breath and relax. This company has a 1.3 million dollar lawsuit against them by the Florida Attorney General's Office. You don't need a lawyer, unless you seek personal damages. Simply go to the Florida AG site, and file an online complaint.

Next time you speak to anyone from Bass, tell them that you know about them having a pending lawsuit. Read it here: http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-onlin...81746454.shtml

The Florida AG I believe is also seeking an injunction against Bass in the meantime. Don't deal with Bass at all. They'll soon be out of business when the AG wins his suit. The lawsuit also seeks to revoke their license and ban the owners from working as collectors.

I had a phone call from Bass and Associates on July 31st threatening to have me arrested if I didn't pay Arrowhead Inv. I did pay the money. I just got off the phone with the FL AG's office and they filed the complaint saying that B&A had violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They referred me also to the Federal trade commission. I hope I can get my $763.90 back.

We are getting tortured by Hailey Nickelberry from Bass or prelitagation. They're going to arrest my husband b/c he's a civilian employee of the military adn violates his contract. Debt does not violate his contract. we do owe a PDL of $350. I got so scared I paid them $2000 in 2 weeks and had my mortgage bounce because of it. Until I came here. I do owe the remaining $350, but I have no intention of paying it in the next 24 hours. They said they called "your husband at work to determine his whereabouts for pick up". Good luck, it's a Naval Base and you'll never got on babe, not even a constable. Thank you for this information. Although her calls are deceitful and harrassing, I know there's no chance I can go to jail for $300. They also threatened to tell me that the bank had filed a suit b/c of fraud. My bank manager is my friend, and has never been contacted about the incident.

Do not pay them anymore. Your money, I am sorry to say, has vanished. They do not apply it to your debt. File a complaint right now.

Andi,
If you have paid them $2000 for a $300 pdl, tell me how you still owe money on the PDL??? Run this by me again?????
Also, my husband was also a DOD employee before he retired--for the Navy, btw--and I can tell you that if your husband is also DOD, there is no way he violated his contract, because he never signed one to begin with. Once again, Bass is blowing smoke you know where.
And I would love to be a fly on the wall if Bass EVER tried to get on base!!!! Can't you just picture it: (Bass employee driving up to the main gate. Security guard: "State your business." Basshole: "I'm here to illegally extort money and arrest a DOD employee through threats and intimidation". Security: "One sec while we call the Shore Patrol to haul your skanky butt away!!!"

Bass employee: "Hello, I'm from a company in Florida, being sued by the top cop of that state for breaking every federal law enacted to protect consumers."

we had SEVERAL payday loans, which I don't dispute having, things were awful. I just got a call from Haley Nickelberry that says "the client has asked us to refund your $$$ you've already paid b/c you haven't finsihed out paying the $300 that we owe" so basically, you'll refund me the $2000 that we've paid b/c of this little balance? She hung up on me. So I called my DH and he freaked out on her, so I don't really know what happened b/c he was so pissed. We did the right thing and paid what we could when we had it, stop busting my chops over it!

I will still file a complaint with the AG of FL just b/c I can. I was under the impression they did pay the loans, b/c we've never gotten calls from the original creditors EVER since paying on them and berfore.

Andi, it's all a lie, your husband is not going to jail over a civil matter, no matter who he works for. Even broken contracts; a civil matter. If anyone is going to jail it might be the Jacksons (Bass owners). Interesting that they are still operating in this manner. Looks like they are trying to get it while they can.

One more thing, contact the Florida AG by all means. In his lawsuit he's also requesting that Bass pay restitution to many of the people they've ripped off. Look up the complaint he filed. He himself uses the words "fraud" and "extortion".
