At 8:09 P.M. on October 11, my husband received an extremely harrassing call from this phone number. I can't get a match either on reversetelephonedirectory.com or by straight Googling the number. My husband had already informed this company about a week beforehand that we are about to file bankruptcy, which they put into their report. A week later, after 8 at night he informs the caller that he'd just spoken to someone and what the status was. The "agent" said "That's not going to work anymore", then began to repeat "Tell it to the judge" every time my husband attempted to say something. Upon asking for the agent's name, the agent refused to answer, and just sat breathing into the phone.

I'm thinking this is illegal procedure. Does anyone recognize 702-367-3335?

Dialing.....

Message that the number is not in service.

And yes - those actions by the rep on the phone to your hubby are illegal. If you request info on the debt, by law you should receive it. It is also illegal the make threats of jail or lawsuits in an attempt to scare you into paying.

Be aware of your rights. One thing I will like to tell you on this. Since you have already decided for filing bankruptcy and the company has noted it, make sure that you do everything fast. You don't want to get a court case on this before the date on which the debt gets filed. I am assuming that the company doesn't have your file, but if they do, they will inform the creditor and try to get a court case. Just my thoughts! In case, if you want to consider other options before filing bankruptcy, take the credit counseling on this matter.
