Here is a new twist or maybe not
Sent United Cash Loans a VOD letter and got a response that said that since I sent them a cease & desist then are selling it to a third party collection agency or I can pay them xx amount to reduce the balance. I can call them or wait until the account has been sold. Don't understand this one

Hi granie410, I am very interested in this particular company. First off what address did you send your DV letter to? If you visit my blog site entry Debt Free-Blog Entry UCL you will find a copy of my dv letter to them. I received the green postal card back but have not heard from them at all. Did you hear from them in letter or email form. Thanks for posting

Anytime you try to challenge the ipdl's they will hit you with the refusal to pay. I did the same to Rio and that is what they did.. Too bad because PDl's are illegal in my state and I had already paid back the principal so sending it to the collection agency was not going to help either.

bdouble, Rio is good for this. I have all those nasty little letters and e-mails. United Cash Loans is also a Rio dba. They are claiming to be indians and exempt from US law. Can you believe that? KYSIDE38

They can claim all they want to, but we all know they are nothing but thieves. I have a file folder full of emails, threats, nasty grams and a few recorded conversations. Little do they know they are far from exempt. Every damn pdl out there thinks they are exempt from the laws. Well, they got another thing coming when they are in the unemployment lines.

I never got a response from United Cash Loans until I filed a complaint against them with the BBB. They claimed to be e-mailing me all of the time to help me out. They even followed me around the forums and posted some of my replies from here in their response to the BBB. They are not exempt. When I loaned with them, they were in Nevada. Now they have moved from TN to an Indian Reservation. Why so much in one year? LOL!

I guess its been over a week since I sent my letter to UCL, I haven't heard a thing from them just the green card returned to me..I am afraid of the silence

They are having a meeting with the head chief of the UCL tribe. He is deciding whether it is worth jepordizing their illegal tactics whether to push the issue. Within the last year, they have been in Nevada, TN, Oklahoma and David from Consumer protection in Nevada also stated that they have received responses to complaints from California also. That makes me think when the heat starts coming down on them, they move. Boy, oh boy, I can't wait for the demise of UCL. It is coming in 2007!!!!

Don't you think that if they were going down though they would scramble to "collect" what ever monies they could before the end?

Actually I think they would back off the collection attempts and threats if the heat was coming down. I think thats why they calm down for a while. Have you filed your complaint against them with the AG of TN? The AG office in TN helped me out alot when it came to these lowlifes as well as alot of help from David and Rose in the Consumer Protection office in Reno, Nevada.

I filed in my stated as well as NV. They have moved around a lot in one year. Your post cracked me up, Tammy. LOL! I have a few more agencies to report them too since they like to stalk people.

Ashley,

They never replied to my certified letters, faxes, or e-mails until they received a complaint I filed with the BBB. Then they flooded my inbox one day claiming how they tried to help me. I think more states are becoming aware of their illegal tactics.
