I am trying to find the best way to get out of payday loan debt - it is so bad that they are taking about 85% of my paycheck and i'm having trouble paying my other bills - has anyone ever been able to make payment arrangements with them to get this debt down.

What state are you in? Go through your state laws and read the contract with these companies. The charges and fees should be according to the laws mentioned in your state. Check with the secretary of state if these companies are licensed to do business in your state. Those doing a business without license are illegal in your state. Report them to your state AG and the Secretary of State. You will pay back the principal amount only to such companies

Here is a link to find out what your state laws are. Just go to state information. At the bottom of the page, click on your state. Also, if the company needs to be licensed in your state, you can get that information there, as well. If you need contact information for these companies, let us know. We can get that for you. Here is the link. Good luck.

Does it matter that they were all internet companies - would PA law still apply or do they have to abide by the laws in the state they are currently in?

The internet pdls have to go by the laws in the state in which the borrower lives.
