I received a letter today from NCO, they are collecting for a medical bill for my son which was covered by our insurance. It was a VERY SMALL bill, what is so strange is this, I have NEVER received a bill from any emergency medical provider (this bill was for an emergency room visit), and this NCO sent me a letter today with the balance owed and a DEBT VERIFICATION letter which they said I requested. Which is nice they sent it, and I'm resubmitting it to my insurance and secondary insurance so that the original creditor will get paid by them. Because whatever my primary insurance doesn't cover the secondary insurance covers 100%. I just found this to be very strange. They even had my primary insurance name and my secondary insurance name.

I don't know what to tell you Nat. I called these guys today when I got the letter and told them that I was resubmitting it to my insurance companies, because according to NCO debt verification it was never submitted to begin with. She said I couldn't do that, I contacted both insurance companies and they said I MOST CERTAINATLY CAN! Last laugh is on NCO, because they won't see a dime.

I've had medical accounts go to NCO too, and I had about 10 reports from them on my credit report when I filed Chapter 13 last year. It didn't matter that I was paying on the bills every month (even if it was a small amount that I was paying), the bills still went to NCO. They never called me, but they spent a fortune in postage sending me notices.

I had a bill for seven dollars that was turned over to them. They have wasted almost that amount on postage. LOL The seven dollars was covered by my insurance. KYSIDE38

These people spend money to buy a debt which is covered by insurance and waste more money on paper and postage, how are they still in business?

I don't know because they were trying to collect on a small medical bill of mine that was paid by my insurance company to the original creditor. I sent them a cease and desist letter and I haven't heard from them since. I haven't read good things about this company.

I recently sent a DV letter to NCO which they received on 22 Jan. I haven't received the letter and the computer generated calls have ceased. I may send a follow up request to further cover my butt. At any rate, I suspect someone at NCO has marked the account as "unable to collect" and another CA at some point will contact me. It was a REALLY GOOD letter I sent them.
